People compare HubSpot and GoHighLevel because both put a CRM, email and automation in one place. They are priced very differently. HubSpot charges per seat and has a free plan. GoHighLevel charges a flat monthly fee, adds usage costs, and is built with agencies in mind. Here is how they compare as of October 2026.
The short verdict
Pick HubSpot if you are one business, want a free start, and want to add seats one person at a time.
Pick GoHighLevel if you are an agency managing several client businesses, or you want a website builder, funnels, booking, texting and a CRM under one flat plan.
How they are priced
All prices are in US dollars, from each vendor's own pages, as of October 2026.
HubSpot
- Free: up to two users and 1,000 contacts, no end date (HubSpot CRM).
- Starter: normally $20 per seat per month, with a limited-time discount for new customers (Starter page).
- Professional: Core Seat $50, Sales Seat $100 per seat per month, with required onboarding (product catalog).
GoHighLevel (pricing page):
- Starter: $97 a month, or $970 a year. Three sub-accounts.
- Unlimited: $297 a month, or $2,970 a year. Unlimited sub-accounts.
- Agency Pro: $497 a month, or $4,970 a year. Adds SaaS mode, so an agency can resell the software.
- Enterprise: custom price.
All GoHighLevel plans include unlimited contacts and unlimited users. Each plan has a 14-day free trial. Billing starts at the end of the trial unless you cancel.
A sub-account is a separate workspace, usually one per business or client. A single business needs one. An agency needs one per client.
Usage costs on top
GoHighLevel says usage-based charges apply for phone numbers, text messages, emails sent and premium AI features. These are billed on top of the plan. On Unlimited and Agency Pro, agencies can pass these costs on to their clients.
HubSpot also has costs that grow with use. Its Starter bill can rise if you add seats, buy add-ons, or go past an included limit such as your marketing contact tier. Some AI features use HubSpot Credits, and Starter includes 500 credits a month.
Neither tool's plan price is the full cost. Estimate your monthly texts, emails and contacts before you compare.
What a small team would pay
At list price, before usage costs, discounts or taxes:
- One person: HubSpot free is $0. HubSpot Starter is $20. GoHighLevel Starter is $97.
- Five people: HubSpot Starter is $100. GoHighLevel Starter is still $97, since users are unlimited.
- An agency with ten clients: GoHighLevel Unlimited is $297 for all of them. HubSpot is priced per seat for one business, so it is a different kind of purchase.
What each one includes
GoHighLevel lists a website and funnel builder, CRM and pipelines, email and text marketing, calling, booking calendars, forms and surveys, reputation management, payments and invoicing, courses and communities. Its Starter plan includes all core features.
HubSpot's free CRM includes contact and deal management, email tracking, templates, meeting scheduling, live chat and quotes. Starter adds email sync, more automation, payments and digital signatures, and removes HubSpot branding.
Setup effort
GoHighLevel covers many tools in one product, so there is a lot to set up. It offers ready-made account templates it calls Snapshots, for industries such as real estate, dentists and gyms. HubSpot's free plan and Starter come with setup guides, and Starter includes guided onboarding.
If you only need a CRM, HubSpot's free plan has less to set up. If you want to replace several tools at once, GoHighLevel has more to configure, so plan time for it.
How to decide
- One business, one to five people, mostly sales: start with HubSpot free or Starter.
- Agency serving several clients: GoHighLevel's sub-accounts are built for that.
- Already paying for a site builder, booking tool and texting tool: price GoHighLevel against their total.
- Heavy texting or calling: estimate usage costs before you choose.
- Not sure: use HubSpot's free plan and GoHighLevel's 14-day trial side by side.

What to write in those emails
Both tools can send emails and texts on a schedule. The words still come from you, so keep them short and specific. The guides to cold email length and follow-ups after no response cover what to write.
